What we collect
Nothing. KanaLearn has no user accounts and integrates no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not have a server, and the app does not send your information anywhere.
Data stored on your device
Your learning data — which characters you've studied, your mastery progress, your streak, and your settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). It never leaves your device through the app. If you have iCloud device backup enabled in iOS, this local data may be included in your own private Apple backup, which is controlled entirely by you and Apple, not by us.
Audio
Pronunciation is generated on your device using Apple's built-in Japanese text-to-speech voice. No audio data is recorded, collected, or transmitted, and no internet connection is used for it.
Purchases
KanaLearn offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock all character groups. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy .
Children's privacy
KanaLearn is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children. Because we collect nothing, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
